STREETSTAR STOCKHOLM INTERNATIONAL STREETDANCE FESTIVAL IS BACK!
Streetstar Stockholm International Streetdance Festival 2015 is arranged for the 10th consecutive year. It is the largest event within Streetdance in Scandinavia and a meeting point for some of the best dancers from all over the world. We have over 800 dancers from 30 countries to participate in the contests and battles.
On our 10th year anniversary we bring back some of the finest dancers from all over the world to Stockholm – Sweden.
We are happy present new categories and battles at the festival among our regular program with BATTLES, PARTIES, PANELS and WORKSHOPS.
The NORDIC qualifications for STREET FIGHTERS WORLD TOUR an international showcase and battle concept.
The SWEDISH qualifications for RED BULL BC ONE where Swedish finest B-boys and B-girl battles to qualify for the European finals.
New Choreographic competition: SHOWCASE OF THE YEAR!
Also for the first time STREETSTAR INTERNATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS will be held in BELARUS on February 28th and ITALY on March 1st and RUSSIA on March 28th, where the winners will represent their countries for the finals at the Streetstar Festival.

HIP HOP BATTLES – 1 vs 1
The international jury enters the battles after having selected the best dancers from the preselections. Those selected dancers will then also become part of the judges panel.
There is sure to be hot battles on a high international level! Get ready to see invited international judges get down!
There will be prelims for this concept in Belarus February 28th and Italy March 1st. The winners of the prelims will qualify directly to the Four corners concept at the Streetstar Festival.
Finals: Saturday April 11th. Starts at 14:00 @ Stockholms Konserthus (See venues)

HOUSE BATTLES – 1 vs 1
The international jury enters the battles after having selected the best dancers from the preselections. Those selected dancers will then also become part of the judges panel.

There will be prelims for this concept in Belarus February 28th and Russia in March (date TBA). The winners of the prelims will qualify directly to the Four corners concept at the Streetstar Festival.

BREAKING SOLO BATTLES – Red Bull BC One – Sweden Cypher
For the first time in Sweden! Streetstar is proud to present the Swedish qualification for the great Red Bull BC One competition.
Red Bull BC One started in 2004 in Biel, Switzerland, and the World Final since has moved to different cities in the world every year.
This year, The Netherlands’ Menno used his creative style and strategy to capture the belt in Paris.
Red Bull BC One cycles through three seasons each year: Cypher, Finals and World Final. Cyphers are national, preliminary events where 16 B-Boys compete for a spot in one of six Finals around the world. The winners of the Finals qualify to battle in the Red Bull BC One World Final.

B-Boys are judged according to their artistic skills, choreography, innovation and character. The one-on-one battle format lets B-Boys show not only their mastery of the B-Boy essentials– toprock, downrock, power moves and freezes– but also their overall style and individual expression.
We have invited the top 16 B-boys/B-girls to get down and battle for the Western European Final in Madrid later this year and then the big World Final in Italy!
A grand jury consisting of the 14 best breaking crews in Sweden has selected the best eight (8) Breakers in Sweden and leave eight (8) spots open to qualify for. The ranking has been coordinated by Devote.

THE STREETSTAR ICONS OF THE CENTURY BALL!
A culture sprung out of Harlem with roots in the 30s and in the drag queen scene. Inspired formost by fashion, hence the name Vogue. This year we bring the Ballroom scene to Sweden with categories like New way, Old Way, Vogue femme & Runway. Vogue is a wide culture now spreading and evolving all over the world.
We have invited the top international queens and kings to enhance the Streetstar Ball 2015 experience.

Vogue New Way: ”House of Bardot & Belmondo”
You got the look of the coolest french Cinema stars of the 20th century Brigitte Bardot and male actor Jean Paul Belmondo. This classic black and white movie with flavor of – Cannes Cocktail parties in the sunny Sixties!
Vogue Femme: ” House of Moulin Rouge”
Welcome to the Belle Époque and the underground cabaret of Pigalle. The seductive courtesans of Moulin Rouge with unlimited pleasure for your Vogue fantasy of Femmes – Satisfaction and Death Drops guaranteed!
Vogue Runway: ”House of Marie Antoniette”
Now you can be the most extravagant Queen of the 18th century! Bring your fanciest crinoline, biggest wigs, your sparkling jewlery and Royal Gold! – Let it all shine on the Runway!

WAACKING BATTLES – 2 vs 2
Dance style with roots in 1970s gay club culture on the U.S. West Coast. Its original name was ‘PUNKING”. And the description given was WAACKING which means to strike with force. And that movement was inspired by silent movies, animation (cartoons:example Bugs Bunny, and Martial Arts) Pictures of Hollywood Movie Stars of the 30′s 40′s and 50′s and it’s Musicals. And its popularity was resurrected in early 2000 as WAACKING.
There will be prelims for this concept in Italy March 1st and Russia in March (date TBA). The winners of the prelims will qualify directly to the quarter finals at the Streetstar Festival.

DANCEHALL BATTLES – 3 vs 3
The style itself reflects Jamaica’s environment turquoise waters and swaying palm trees, and at the same time hard street life and tough attitudes. Dancehall is one of the Caribbean’s largest international cultures.

SHOWCASE OF THE YEAR
Streetstar are proud to present the ultimate international showcase competition of the year! All urban dance styles are welcome!
Popping, Locking, Hip Hop, House, Voguing, Waacking, Dancehall and Breaking.
The competition is open for all crews from all over the world. Our esteemed judge panel is fierce and has great knowledge and understands the evolving disciplines of urban dance. This is the opportunity for all dancers and crews to expose and experience some of the most exciting performances of the urban dance scene of 2015.
The competition will be open for two different age categories/crews.
Advanced Category – Open to all Dancers, Professionals and Students of all ages.
Youth Category – Under 18 years – Open for all student dancers and crews.

STREET FIGHTERS – World tour
For the first time in Sweden! Streetstar is proud to present the NORDIC qualification for one of the greatest crew competition. Showcase and mixed-style freestyle battle. This Italian concept has qualifications all over the world and the finalist from all regions meets in the World final in Italy this summer and the festival THE WEEK in Cesenatico July 18th 2015.
Street Fighters is choreographic contest with direct elimination system. The four best showcases go through to the next round, which is a mixed-style freestyle battle.
